Job summary

Socket.dev in Austin, Texas is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle Technician to install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on autonomous vehicles. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday 9am–5pm schedule, $25–$30 per hour, and benefits.

You will work with sensors, wiring, compute modules, and diagnostic tools to keep AVs performing at peak. Join a growing automotive technology team and support cross-functional operations while reading diagrams and performing vehicle

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive, EV, or vehicle electronics.
• Ability to troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working on vehicles for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Install sensors, cameras, wiring harnesses, and vehicle hardware.
• Install and connect computer/compute modules.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
• Perform vehicle retrofits, repairs, and hardware updates.
• Read wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Use multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and hand/power tools.
• Document completed work.
• Work with engineering and operations teams.
