Job summary

Torc Robotics seeks a Fleet Operations Manager to oversee autonomous truck operations at our Fort Worth site, reporting to the Director of Fleet Operations. This on-site role manages safety, compliance, budgeting, and vendor relations across a Class 8 test fleet.

Responsibilities include daily fleet operations, development of business plans and KPIs, scheduling, and collaboration with engineering to ensure safe, productive testing. Travel and overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• 6 years of progressive experience in operations and management of a transportation or trucking center and fleet.
• Knowledge of autonomous vehicles and the opportunities and challenges of a fast-moving environment.
• Working knowledge of the industry’s legal obligations, regulations, and guidelines.
• Experience with budgeting, procurement and financial operations, supervision and training, facilities and asset management, and crisis management.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate with a diverse workforce.
• Solid technical knowledge and the ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks to optimize autonomous vehicle operations.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills for small and large groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and audio/visual equipment.
• Strong business judgment, a collaborative style, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple programs at once.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing business needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Logistics Managers and provide leadership to their teams.
• Develop business plans, metrics, and KPIs that measure goals such as miles per day, safety and productivity.
• Run day-to-day operations by building schedules, assigning work, and maintaining procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering to review test plans and safety processes for autonomous testing.
• Own transportation expenses, inventories, budgeting, and forecasting, including variances and corrective action.
• Support safety programs and coordinate with the Director of Operational Safety on improvements.
