Job summary

Lodestar Space is seeking a seasoned technical proposal writer to translate complex space systems concepts into compliant, compelling narratives for government evaluators. You will own multiple volumes across DoD and IC opportunities, collaborating with engineers to craft executive summaries, capability descriptions, and past performance write-ups.

You will decompose solicitations, ensure FAR/DFARS compliance, and build a reusable content library to streamline future submissions.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of hands-on technical proposal writing for DoD, DoW, NASA, or IC customers.
• Experience writing for space systems, satellite technology, or defense software.
• Ability to decompose complex solicitations independently (L/M analysis, compliance matrices, outlines).
• Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS to ensure compliant submissions.

Responsibilities

• Own the writing of technical, management, and past performance volumes for prime and subcontractor submissions.
• Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, evaluator-ready narrative without heavy engineer draft input.
• Write executive summaries, capability descriptions, and past performance write-ups.
• Build and maintain a reusable proposal content library to reduce workload over time.
• Coordinate inputs from BD, Finance, Legal, and Mission Operations to assemble submissions on deadline.
• Manage proposal schedules, draft cycles, and submission logistics.
