Job summary

Waymo in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a seasoned operations engineer to bring up and enable deployment of new Waymo platforms across the program lifecycle, from prototype to production. You will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to capture feedback, resolve issues, and drive readiness of sensor suites and base vehicles for large-scale deployment.

The role emphasizes hardware and platform design input, strong communication with senior stakeholders, and close coordination

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 7+ years in automotive or transportation-related development.
• Deep operations experience bringing up hardware and platforms in critical mission environments.
• Experience working with large cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Bring up and enable deployment of new Waymo platforms across program phases from prototype to deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders on feedback, issue discovery and resolution.
• Manage and drive operations for new sensor suite and base vehicle to ensure maturity and large-scale deployment readiness.
• Work with automotive partners and partner test drivers on operational observations, feedback, and training.
• Help create hardware design and platform feature needs based on optimization for Operations & Scale.
