Job summary

Waymo is seeking a senior operations-focused engineer to bring up and deploy new Waymo platforms from prototype state to production. You will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to rapidly identify and resolve issues, and manage operations for sensor suites and base vehicles to support scalable deployment.

The role requires a BA/BS in a related field and 7+ years of automotive or transportation systems experience, with strong communication skills and experience working with

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in related technical subject or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of automotive-based development or related transportation industry experience.
• Deep operations experience bringing up hardware and platform deployments in mission-critical environments.
• Experience working with large cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Bring up and enable deployment of new Waymo platforms across program phases from prototype to deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders on rapid feedback, issue discovery and resolution.
• Direct operations for new sensor suite and base vehicle to ensure readiness for large-scale deployment.
• Work with automotive partners and test drivers on observations, feedback, and training.
• Influence hardware design and platform feature needs based on operations and scale goals.
