Job summary

Motional in the United States seeks a Mission Support Manager to lead and scale the Mission Support organization, overseeing frontline supervisors and technicians to ensure fleet readiness, safety, and reliable field support. You will drive operational excellence, workforce planning, and cross‑functional execution with Engineering and Infrastructure teams.

The role involves managing budgets, staffing, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in fleet/transport/automotive operations or related technical field.
• Minimum three years leading frontline supervisors or cross‑functional programs.
• Basic working knowledge of Autonomous Vehicle technology.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
• Strong data‑driven decision making, organization, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Mission Support org by coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Establish operational strategies to ensure fleet readiness and mission execution.
• Own fleet readiness metrics, including uptime, mission readiness, and response times.
• Oversee daily fleet support, including inspections, software updates, charging, and recovery.
• Ensure safe, compliant, standardized execution across shifts and locations.
• Develop staffing models, scheduling, and resource plans to support growth.
• Escalation point for disruptions and complex vehicle events.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement with scalable processes and tools.
• Manage budgets, inventory, and expense reporting.
