The Tennessee Board of Regents invites applications for an Associate Instructor - Automotive Technology at the TCAT Chattanooga State campus. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Automotive Service Industry.
  • Graduate of a one‑year diploma program in Automotive Technology or four years of experience as an Automotive Technician.
  • Willingness to complete ASE Master Certification within six months of employment.
  • Evidence of the ability to teach students effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to remaining current in the Automotive Service Industry.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and develop curriculum aligned with industry standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress, assign grades, and maintain attendance records.
  • Provide academic support and advise students on goals and retention.
  • Order and manage instructional supplies and equipment, ensuring budget compliance.
  • Collaborate to align curriculum and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Build relationships with industry partners for apprenticeships and placements.
  • Maintain PSLOs and COE reports with colleagues.
  • Maintain required office hours 7:30am–3:00pm, Mon-Fri.
