Job summary

Pep Boys is hiring an Automotive Mechanic to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services, ensuring excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and co-workers, stay updated with changing automotive technology, and mentor teammates while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires flexible availability and a focus on teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months automotive repair experience required.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of General Service Technician when needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanics (customers and staff).
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians and keep management informed of problems.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and adhere to safety policies.
