Job summary
Pep Boys Inc is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experiences. You will explain technical repairs to customers and coworkers, learn new techniques, and mentor teammates in a clean, safe shop environment.
Responsibilities include diagnosing diverse systems, performing maintenance, and collaborating with others to ensure quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; related automotive training a plus.
- 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
- Section 609 certification preferred; state inspection license may apply.
- Must have a valid driver's license and pass pre-employment checks.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, electrical, cooling, exhaust and suspension systems.
- Perform maintenance services and lower-level technician duties as needed.
- Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers clearly.
- Continuously learn new automotive techniques in formal trainings.
- Assist other technicians and keep the shop organized and safe.
