Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tires and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers and stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology.

You will train and mentor coworkers, maintain a clean, safe shop, and support management by identifying repair problems early. A valid driver’s license and ongoing learning are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months automotive repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform duties of lower job descriptions (General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to coworkers and customers as needed.
• Continue learning new technical information in formal trainings to stay updated.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and clean shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
