Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and teammates, and continually update skills with new automotive technologies.

The role includes training and mentoring coworkers, maintaining safe and clean work areas, and adhering to all safety, policies, and environmental rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of automotive repair experience.
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Must be available to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications (brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension/alignments).
• Perform all maintenance services and assist other technicians.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies and techniques.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
