Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District seeks a skilled vehicle maintenance technician to perform preventative and emergency maintenance on district vehicles and equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and inspect a variety of systems including brakes, propulsion, hydraulics, and HVAC, ensuring safety and compliance with EPA regulations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ASE certification or equivalent experience, and a valid Texas/NM CDL may be needed within 120 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ASE cert, military training, or 6 months repair experience preferred.
• Must have valid Texas or New Mexico driver's license and able to obtain CDL within 90–120 days.
• Must be insurable and adhere to alcohol/drug testing policy.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot repair needs and estimate parts/time.
• Perform routine maintenance per manufacturer recommendations.
• Repair vehicles and related equipment; welding, HVAC, hydraulics, electrical work as needed.
• Inspect, road-test, and ensure quality diagnostics and repairs.
• Read blueprints/schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Maintain inventory and procure parts as needed.
• Work varying shifts; respond to service calls.
