Job summary

Corpus Christi Independent School District is seeking a vehicle technician helper for the Office of Transportation. You will work under the Shop Foreman to ensure reliable, safe vehicles for the district and other agencies, performing helper duties and assisting senior technicians.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, one year of vehicle maintenance experience, and the ability to read technical information, use a computer for assignments, and pass a DOT drug/alcohol screen.

Qualifications

• One year of documented successful experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information and apply as required.
• Ability to operate a computer system for job assignment and posting work accomplished.
• Must possess extensive knowledge, skills, and abilities in computer diagnostics for a variety of vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain required equipment, tools and related items and ensure accountability, serviceable and operational.
• Troubleshoot a wide variety of mechanical problems across multiple vehicles and engines.
• Replace light systems in vehicles in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe working area and practice safe operating procedures.
• Assist others in vehicle repairs and maintain a safe work environment.
