Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to perform diagnostic, installation, maintenance and repair work on automotive and heavy equipment. The role may require shift work, weekend hours, and callback; work occurs in a shop with demanding physical tasks.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and four years of relevant experience in automotive maintenance and repair. Valid Maryland driver's license is required; tools must be provided by the employee.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Four years of maintenance and repair of automotive equipment.
• Equivalency: substitutions allowed for education/experience as described in notes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, install, maintain and repair automotive, heavy truck and related equipment.
• Work under supervision from a technical superior.
• Shift work including weekends and callbacks may be required.
• Work in an automotive repair shop with dirty, greasy conditions and strenuous physical exertion.
