Job summary
Baltimore City is seeking applicants for a four-year Automotive Mechanic Apprentice program. Trainees learn diagnostic, installation, maintenance, and repair skills across automotive and heavy equipment under close supervision.
A valid Maryland Class C noncommercial license is required, with provisional licenses not acceptable. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, and one year of automotive experience; equivalency notes permit substitution via accredited Vocational/Technical
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: One year automotive experience.
- Equivalency: A vocational/technical automotive program may substitute for one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, learn diagnostic, installation, maintenance and repair duties across automotive, heavy truck and equipment.
- Work in an automotive repair shop, with potential shift work including weekends, in a dusty, greasy environment.
