Job summary

City of Baltimore is seeking an Automotive Maintenance Worker to perform safety checks on vehicles and assist mechanics with installation, maintenance and repair work in an automotive shop. Work includes shift and weekend duties, possible call-back, and requires driving and following safety procedures.

Minimum qualifications include one year of automotive maintenance or repair experience or related coursework, a Maryland Class C noncommercial license, and uploading your license with the

Qualifications

One year of experience in automotive maintenance or repair.
One year of required coursework in automotive mechanic curriculum may substitute for six months of experience.
Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license or equivalent and eligible to obtain Baltimore City driver’s permit.
Provisional driver’s licenses are not acceptable.
Must upload a copy of your valid driver’s license with application.

Responsibilities

Perform safety checks on vehicles.
Assist mechanics in installation, maintenance and repair work on cars and trucks.
Work in an automotive shop with regular exposure to grease, fumes and physical exertion.
