Job summary

Baltimore City Government is hiring an Automotive Maintenance Worker to perform safety checks and assist with installation, maintenance and repair of vehicles in a city shop. Successful candidates will have at least one year of automotive maintenance experience, a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial license, and the ability to work shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in automotive maintenance or repair.
• Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license; provisional licenses not acceptable.
• Equivalency: one year of automotive coursework may substitute for six months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks on vehicles and assist with installation, maintenance and repairs.
• Work shifts including weekends and potential call-back.
• Operate in a shop environment with dirty, greasy conditions and fumes.
