Job summary

Quirk Auto Dealers is seeking an experienced Technician for our busy Service Department in Quincy, MA. Compensation will be based on experience, with pay ranging from $20 to $50 per hour, and a strong focus on accurate diagnostics and hands-on repairs.

In this full-time, in-person position you will diagnose vehicle systems, perform testing, and provide repair estimates to the Service Advisor while staying current with new technology and service bulletins.

Qualifications

• Experience using diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Ability to test-drive vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification.
• Diagnose engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, steering, electrical, A/C, etc.
• Provide service advisor with repair estimates.
• Keep up to date with technical bulletins, recalls and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Test vehicles using diagnostic equipment to identify issues.
• Drive vehicles for diagnosis and verification of repairs.
• Diagnose automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, A/C.
• Provide estimates to Service Advisor for additional repairs.
• Stay current with manufacturer bulletins, recalls and new tech.

Position Overview

Key Required Proficiencies

• Use Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to test vehicle components
• Test-driving vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Diagnose vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, air conditioning, etc
• Provide the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed
• Stay current with technical bulletins, recalls, service procedures, and new technology.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in managing and organizing work time and work-related activities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude
• Strong willingness to learn.
• Previous experience and certifications recommended.
