Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is hiring at its Spring, TX location for a customer-focused associate who will greet customers, schedule service, sell parts and service, and manage transactions.

The role requires basic math for commissions and discounts, and a willingness to learn service processes and safety standards. You will be the first point of contact in-store and on the phone, ensuring excellent customer care while supporting work orders, inspections, and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions; ability to apply formulas to calculate commissions and discounts.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store; engage customers, schedule appointments, build trust, understand needs, and sell parts and service to keep cars running
• Organize and drive service business through work orders and register transactions; thorough vehicle inspections and service knowledge
• Assist in customer care, work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase (OP) ordering
• Follow policies on cash, credit, checks, refunds, and returns; work with management on customer service issues and opportunities
• Perform routine express automotive services: tire mounting/balancing/rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrications, filters/bulbs, battery install, and safety inspections
• Maintain safety procedures and ensure wheel/ oil services follow SOPs
• Collaborate with management to maintain a safe, compliant work environment
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers; interpret and retain information
• Serve as key holder with opening/closing responsibilities
• Maintain organized, neat shop and adhere to all policies, safety, and environmental rules
• Other duties as assigned
