Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a customer-focused associate to engage customers on the floor and at the register, recommend parts and services, and schedule appointments. You will handle work orders, product knowledge, and basic sales activities to help customers achieve peak vehicle performance.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced retail automotive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• 1 year of related automotive service and 1 year sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• First contact for customers by phone and in-store; engage, schedule, and upsell parts and services.
• Organize service business through work orders, inspections, and knowledge of parts.
• Assist with customer care, work orders, register transactions, and stock handling.
• Follow policies on cash handling, refunds, and returns; address complaints and opportunities.
• Perform express automotive services and thorough vehicle inspections according to SOPs.
• Maintain safety procedures and proper wheel torque and oil services.
• Collaborate with management to ensure a safe, compliant workplace.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers.
• Maintain an organized and clean shop; perform opening/closing duties as needed.
• Adhere to all policies, safety, and environmental rules.
