Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is hiring for a customer-focused automotive team member. You will be the first point of contact for customers both on the phone and in-store, scheduling appointments, and selling parts and services to keep vehicles running at peak efficiency.

Daily duties include processing work orders and transactions, performing basic vehicle inspections, and assisting with service and parts knowledge. Strong communication and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store. Engage customers, schedule appointments, build trust, understand needs, communicate processes and timelines, and sell parts and services.
• Organize and manage service business through work orders and register transactions, thorough vehicle inspections, and service/part knowledge.
• Assist in various aspects of customer care, work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering.
• Follow all policies related to cash, credit, checks, refunds and returns; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Conduct express automotive services including tire mounting/balancing/rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrications, filters/bulbs, battery installation, start/charging testing, cosmetic services, and thorough inspections.
• Promote safety procedures and ensure wheel torque and oil/fluid services follow SOPs.
• Collaborate with Management to maintain a safe/healthy work environment in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers; interpret and retain information.
• In some locations, may have basic/closing responsibilities; keep the shop organized and neat.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
