Job summary

Pep Boys in Lansing, IL is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the service and tire team under the Store Service Manager. You will drive service sales across labor, parts, tires and fleet while ensuring efficient store operations and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities include supervising day-to-day operations, coaching service advisors on customer interactions, completing CVIs, ensuring safety and compliance, and maintaining an organized shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in automotive service.
• One year of automotive service sales experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to use POS systems and basic math for commissions and discounts.
• Acted as a work lead or supervisor previously.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in customer care, work order and register assistance.
• Maintain shop efficiency and safety, and support store operations.
• Drive service sales for labor, parts, tires and fleet business.
• Coach service advisors on customer interactions and the Pep Boys process.
• Monitor productivity and area housekeeping to SSC standards.
• Act as primary supervisor in the absence of management.
• Open/close responsibilities as a key holder.
• Ensure a neat, organized shop and compliance with policies.
