Job summary

Midas Auto Experts in New Jersey is seeking an Automotive Service Assistant Manager to lead the service department, supervise technicians, and ensure quality repairs. This is an in-store, hands-on leadership role focused on safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.

You'll liaise with customers, manage workflow, and mentor team members while upholding the company’s standards and values. Weekend and evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year store or service assistant manager experience.
• General automotive knowledge.
• Excellent customer service disposition.
• Good communication skills.
• Leadership ability.
• Team building skills.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all automotive and general service technicians.
• Ensure a safe, secure, and trustworthy work environment.
• Fill in for Manager and make executive decisions.
• Support ongoing learning and development of team members.
• Establishes strategic goals by gathering information from reporting documents.
• Define objectives, identifies, and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action and evaluates outcomes.
• Lead by example, manage, and train team while aligning with company values.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed by all employees.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while listening and consulting customers.
• Oversee vehicle inspections and prepare comprehensive repair orders with parts sourcing.
• Discuss pricing estimates with customers and promote shop services and financing options.
• Monitor quality of vehicles signed out.
• Supervise up to 10 employees.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering and receipt.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Other duties as assigned.
