Job summary

Kansas City Hyundai is seeking a motivated Automotive Service Advisor/Service Writer to initiate services, write repair orders, and maintain customer records. This role acts as the liaison between customer and technician, ensuring clear understanding of needed services and warranties.

The position offers uncapped earning potential with a compensation range of $70,000–$120,000+ annually, plus medical, dental & vision, 401(k), PTO, and ongoing Hyundai factory training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, Automotive Service Consultant, or Assistant Service Manager preferred.
• Automotive dealership experience preferred.
• Hyundai experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and sales skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and provide an exceptional service experience from check-in through vehicle delivery.
• Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document repair requests.
• Recommend maintenance and repair services based on manufacturer recommendations, inspections, and technician findings.
• Prepare repair estimates and explain recommended services, pricing, and timelines in a professional manner.
• Open, update, and manage repair orders throughout the service process.
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians.
• Communicate regularly with customers regarding repair status and completion times.
• Review completed repairs with customers and ensure complete satisfaction.
• Build long-term customer relationships through outstanding customer service and follow-up.
• Help achieve customer satisfaction, customer retention, and dealership performance goals.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation while following dealership and manufacturer procedures.
