Job summary

Generation Kia in New York’s Town of Islip area seeks a Service Advisor to bridge customers with our service team, greet customers, collect vehicle details, and document issues for repair orders. You will guide inspections, discuss service needs, and maintain clear cost estimates with transparency.

You’ll coordinate with dispatch, technicians, and parts, communicate progress, obtain approvals, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the day. Saturdays are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Previous Automotive Service Advisor or Service Writer experience preferred.
• Kia experience is a plus.
• Tekion experience is a plus.
• Must be available to work Saturdays.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance, repair orders, and service recommendations.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced service department.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a timely and friendly manner.
• Obtain accurate vehicle information from customers, including VIN, make, model, year, and mileage.
• Write up customer's vehicle problems accurately on the repair order.
• Conduct a preliminary inspection of the vehicle and note issues.
• Test drive the vehicle as necessary to diagnose issues.
• Provide clear service recommendations and explain urgency.
• Prepare written cost estimates for labor and parts.
• Maintain communication with the service dispatcher, technicians, and parts department.
• Keep customers informed of progress and changes.
• Obtain customer authorization for repairs and signatures.
