Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an enthusiastic team member to engage customers on the sales floor and service desk, scheduling appointments and selling parts and services that keep vehicles running smoothly.

You will handle cash/transactions, assist with service orders, and perform routine automotive services while maintaining a safe, organized shop and complying with all policies. Evening and weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• 1 year of related automotive service experience.
• 1 year of sales experience preferred.
• Ability to understand basic math concepts for commissions and discounts.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers by phone and in-store; engage customers, schedule appointments, build trust, and upsell parts and service.
• Organize and drive service business productivity through work orders and register transactions; knowledge of vehicles and parts.
• Assist in customer care, work orders, register tasks, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering under Management.
• Follow policies on cash, credit, checks, refunds and returns; address customer service issues and opportunities.
• Perform routine express automotive services: tire mounting, balancing, rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrication, filters, bulbs, battery service; conduct vehicle inspections.
• Ensure safety procedures and SOPs; verify wheel torque and oil/fluid services.
• Support a safe work environment compliant with laws and policies; communicate with associates, management and customers.
• Serve as key holder with opening/closing responsibilities; keep the shop organized and neat.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety rules; perform other duties as assigned.
