Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a customer-oriented associate to engage customers both in-store and over the phone, schedule appointments, and drive parts and service sales. You will handle work orders, process transactions, and perform basic vehicle services while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, reliable teamwork, and the ability to work flexible hours across days, nights, weekends and holidays. Store operations and customer care excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store. Engage customers, schedule appointments, build trust, understand needs, communicate processes and timelines, and sell parts and service.
• Organize and maintain service business through work orders and register transactions; perform thorough vehicle inspections and know service/parts.
• Assist in customer care, work orders, register assistance, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering under management guidance.
• Follow cash, credit, check, refund and return policies; cooperate with management to address issues and opportunities.
• Conduct express automotive services: tire mounting/balancing, rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrications, and inspections.
• Ensure safety procedures and proper wheel torque and fluids per SOPs.
• Support safe, compliant work environment per laws and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers.
• Maintain opening/closing duties as a key holder; keep shop organized and clean.
• Adhere to all policies, safety and environmental rules.
