Job summary

Sonic Automotive, Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston, TX, is seeking an Automotive Sales Associate to help customers through the vehicle buying journey. You’ll provide product information, demonstrate features, and deliver a positive buying experience.

You’ll generate traffic, greet and qualify leads, conduct test drives, discuss financing with the F&I team, and work toward closing deals with uncapped commission. A valid license and work authorization in the USA are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of automotive sales experience.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Authorized to work in the USA; able to pass pre-employment screening (background, drug, MVR) and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Generate traffic through outreach, referrals, social media, and walk-ins.
• Greet customers and assess needs to recommend best vehicle options.
• Conduct test drives to demonstrate features and value.
• Stay updated on models, trims, incentives, and pricing.
• Guide customers through sales process, including trade-ins and financing discussions.
• Collaborate with Finance & Insurance to finalize deals.
• Negotiate and close deals while maximizing gross profit.
• Follow up post-sale to ensure satisfaction.
• Build relationships leading to repeat business and referrals.
• Use consultative selling and upselling while maintaining trust.
