Job summary

Genuine Parts Company, operators of NAPA retail stores, seeks an Assistant Store Manager to apply automotive, customer service, and leadership expertise to run a busy NAPA store. You will act as primary support to the Store Manager, while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities and ensuring completion of counter sales, inventory, delivery coordination, and housekeeping.

This role is a developmental path toward Store Manager. Overtime and keyholder duties may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical courses preferred.
• Experience in automotive aftermarket or willingness to learn.
• Leadership experience and customer focus.
• Strong relationship-building and service mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in retail/parts environments is a plus.
• ASE certifications a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines.
• Handle or support administrative tasks and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor and act on core store metrics and problem-solve for solutions.
• Provide leadership oversight, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive adherence to safety and asset protection and continuous improvement.
