Job summary

Genuine Parts Company’s NAPA store seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead store operations with customer-facing sales and hands-on coaching. This role supports the Store Manager to ensure counter sales, inventory, delivery coordination, housekeeping, and other tasks meet standards and sustain store continuity.

Designed as a developmental pathway to Store Manager, the role may require overtime and keyholder duties for opening and closing the store, aligned with business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade courses welcome.
• Experience in automotive aftermarket or willingness to learn.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Customer care mindset with relationship-building.
• Thrives in fast-paced, complex environments.
• Knowledge of cataloging/inventory systems.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across channels (in-store, phone, dealer/wholesale).
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines, cash reconciliation, and end-of-day reporting.
• Handle scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking, and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor store metrics and uncover trends to drive solutions.
• Provide leadership oversight, coaching, and performance management for flexible store functions.
• Support talent development and succession planning.
• Drive safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
