Job summary

Genuine Parts Company (NAPA retail) seeks an Assistant Store Manager to apply automotive knowledge and leadership to successfully operate our store and drive market leadership as the dominant parts supplier. The role supports the Store Manager across all functions while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities, including counter sales, inventory, delivery coordination, and housekeeping.

This developmental pathway leads toward a Store Manager role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Strong leadership and customer care skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels (in-store, phone, and external dealer/wholesale calls as needed).
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for store functions (counter sales, receiving, stocking, delivery coordination).
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
