Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. seeks a Plant General Manager in Lexington, KY to lead a major automotive manufacturing operation.

You will drive production, quality, safety, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement across the facility, delivering sustainable improvements and coordinating launches with automotive customers. The ideal candidate brings hands-on leadership, a proven track record in complex automotive environments, and strong financial and operational management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience leading a complex manufacturing plant or major operation.
• Measurable improvements in quality, cost, delivery, safety, productivity, profitability.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and structured problem solving.
• Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise.
• Experience with new product launches in automotive.
• Plant financial management, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, P&L.
• Proven ability to lead and retain high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Understanding of quality, safety, delivery, productivity, cost systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant operations across production, quality, maintenance, and safety.
• Develop and execute strategies aligning with objectives and customer needs.
• Ensure quality, delivery, productivity, and cost targets are met.
• Maintain ISO compliance and customer quality requirements.
• Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving initiatives.
• Analyze metrics to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Establish KPIs and manage the operating plan and budget.
• Oversee plant P&L, labor, inventory, and cost controls.
• Ensure readiness for launches and customer support.
