Job summary

NAPA in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager across all store functions while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities. This role develops into a Store Manager through leadership, coaching and operational excellence.

You will oversee counter sales, inventory, deliveries, housekeeping, and scheduling, while driving safety, asset protection and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience and ability to coach others.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Thrives in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs in some situations.
• Experience in a parts store/retail management is a plus.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor alignment, and team performance.
• Sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting).
• Monitor store metrics and problem-solve to improve sales, inventory, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership, training and performance management for store functions and talent development.
