Franklin Cummings Tech is seeking an Automotive Lab Assistant to support instructors and students in the automotive lab. This work-study role focuses on preparing tools, maintaining equipment, and guiding hands-on activities under instructor direction.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, assisting with vehicle prep and diagnostics, and ensuring a clean, compliant lab environment. Applicants must be enrolled students with a 2.0+ GPA and available 2 days weekly.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student at Franklin Cummings Tech (Franklin Cummings Tech)
• GPA 2.0 or above
• Work a minimum of 2 days a week between 8am–4pm with some shifts as needed
• Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 75lbs and stand for 3 hours

Responsibilities

• Lab Support: assist instructors in coordinating daily labs in a safe, organized environment
• Equipment and Tooling: prepare, maintain, organize lab equipment, tools, and safety gear
• Student Assistance: help students operate equipment and follow safety practices
• Safety Compliance: monitor activities and ensure PPE use
• Lab Maintenance: keep the lab clean and compliant with safety guidelines
• Specialized Tasks: assist in preparing vehicles or components for lab work and support student diagnostics
