Job summary

Central Oregon Community College is seeking an Automotive Lab Assistant to support instruction and evaluation in the Automotive labs. Under the Automotive Program Director and faculty, you will help students, answer questions, and ensure lab safety and proper use of tools and equipment.

This role requires basic technical aptitude, ability to work with staff, and flexible hours including some evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completed coursework in an AAS Automotive degree program.
• Familiarity with automotive tools and lab procedures.
• Ability to monitor safety and assist students in labs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Assist during course labs under instructor direction.
• Orient new students to lab software and procedures.
• Track student and program outcomes with staff.
• Perform equipment maintenance as scheduled.
• Coordinate with vendors for delivery of supplies.
• Support operation of audio-visual equipment and presentations.
• Communicate effectively in writing with program staff.
