Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a mobile installation technician to fit and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and related fleet equipment.

You will work on light-duty vehicles through commercial trucks, perform 12V/24V wiring, document installations with photos and notes, travel to customer sites, and maintain safety and quality in right-first-time work. ASE/I-CAR certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work around vehicles and trailers.
21+ years of age.
Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience preferred.
Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms preferred.
12V/24V electrical experience preferred.
Commercial truck or trailer experience preferred.
ADAS scanning or calibration experience preferred.
ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications preferred.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
