Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Inspector I to verify vehicle conditions at check-in, document findings, and support inspection processes. This role requires basic driving credentials and ICP Level I completion, with a day shift and at Cox location.

Responsibilities include completing electronic condition reports, using inspection software, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures. Training and a collaborative team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred, OR less than 2 years of related work experience.
• Safe driver’s license required.
• Successful ICP Level I written/field exam.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information based on work order information – identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at the time of receipt (i.e., interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment), noting any damage or repair to frame/paint, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, tire condition, etc.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities, knowledge of needed/job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications.
• Maintain a working knowledge of improvements and changes concerning body, mechanical, frame labor, inspection techniques, etc.
