Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Vehicle Condition Inspector to assess and document the condition of vehicles, noting damages and necessary repairs. You will prepare detailed condition reports, repair cost estimates and supporting photos for each unit.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions. Attention to detail and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Less than 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to drive both standard and automatic transmissions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Preferred knowledge of mechanical/automotive body work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment of vehicle condition, noting damage or needed repair.
• Record frame, paint, engine, AC/heater, radio, navigation, tires and related items.
• Prepare documentation: VIN data, condition description, repair costs, photos.
• Keep current knowledge of labor rates, parts charges and manufacturer updates.
• Perform courtesy walk-around inspections.
• Follow safety and health procedures.
• May be required to locate, start and move vehicles as directed.
