Job summary

Group 1 Collision Center in Houston seeks an Automotive Glass Technician to join the service team. You will remove, replace, and repair windshields and other glass while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in automotive glass installation/repair.
• Strong attention to safety-critical workmanship.
• Ability to lift and maneuver glass panels up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work well in a team-based shop environment.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• Experience with ADAS calibration a plus; training available.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace windshields, rear windshields, and side glass on various makes and models.
• Diagnose and repair minor chips, cracks, and stone damage using standard techniques.
• Perform ADAS calibrations (static and/or dynamic) post-replacement as needed.
• Prepare, clean, and prime glass and pinch weld areas for a secure seal.
• Apply urethane and adhesives per manufacturer cure times and safety drive-away times.
• Inspect vehicles for pre-existing damage and document findings.
• Test-drive or inspect after repairs to verify fit and sensor functionality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; handle waste properly.
• Complete repair orders and communicate status with service advisors.
• Adhere to dealership, manufacturer, and safety standards; stay updated on glass tech.
• Stay current on new glass technologies and calibration requirements.
