Job summary

Germain Subaru in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an Express Service Advisor to manage the express lane—oil changes, tire rotations, and routine maintenance—with speed, accuracy, and a great customer experience.

You'll greet customers quickly, write up routine maintenance, review inspections, and keep cars moving by monitoring cycle times and routing larger repairs when needed. Competitive hourly pay and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a service advisor or in fast-paced customer service.
• Ability to multitask and move multiple repair orders efficiently.
• Basic understanding of routine vehicle maintenance.
• Strong communication to build trust with customers on-site.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
• Bilingual ability is a plus; ASE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet express-lane customers quickly and set clear expectations on wait time.

At Germain Subaru, we're looking for an Express Service Advisor to run our quick-service lane - oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, and routine maintenance - with speed, accuracy, and a great customer experience every time.

What You'll Do

• Greet express-lane customers quickly and set clear expectations on wait time
• Write up routine maintenance and quick-turn repair orders accurately and efficiently
• Walk customers through multi-point inspection findings and recommend needed maintenance (fluids, filters, wipers, tires, batteries)
• Keep cars moving through the express bay - monitor cycle times and flag delays before they become a problem
• Communicate proactively if a vehicle needs to be routed to the main shop for larger repairs
• Build trust through clear, honest communication, even when the answer is "this can wait"

Compensation & Earning Potential

This is a performance-based position built around volume and consistency.

• Pay for this role will be $16 - $22 per hour
• Weekly pay for consistent income flow

Note: Because express work runs on volume rather than large ticket repairs, earnings potential and pay structure typically look different than a traditional advisor role - worth reflecting that in the specific number you post rather than reusing the standard advisor range.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience as a service advisor, service consultant, or in a fast-paced customer service role (automotive experience preferred but not always required for express)
• Comfortable multitasking and keeping several repair orders moving at once
• Basic understanding of routine vehicle maintenance
• Strong communication skills - able to build trust quickly with customers who are often waiting on-site
• Organized, detail-oriented, and calm under time pressure
• ASE certification is a plus
• Bilingual is a plus
• Professional appearance and strong work ethic
• Valid driver's license required
• Must pass pre-employment screening (background, drug test, MVR)
