Job summary

Smart Start, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to ensure reliable operation of alcohol monitoring and vehicle electronic systems. The role blends automotive and electrical work with strong customer service to support public safety and compliance.

You will install, service, and troubleshoot devices, train customers, and coordinate with management. The position emphasizes hands-on work, documentation, and adherence to confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a customer-facing role and providing phone support is a plus.
• Proficiency with 12V DC automotive electrical systems is required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and remove alcohol monitoring and vehicle electronic devices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work environment.
• Conduct customer training sessions and provide phone support to ensure satisfaction.
• Make daily or weekly reminder calls to customers with upcoming appointments.
• Perform monthly inventory audits and assist nearby facilities as needed.
• Manage weekly work hours (≤ 40 hours/week) and communicate with management.
• Uphold confidentiality, data security, and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including vehicle-to-vehicle transfers.
