Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist I in Meridian, Idaho to perform diagnostic, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs on vehicles, ensuring safety and quality. You will handle repair orders with attention to labor, parts, and billing, while delivering excellent customer service throughout the repair process at a fast-paced CarMax location.

Responsibilities include accurate diagnostics, 5S workspace standards, and collaboration with store leadership.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately for record-keeping.
• Strong multitasking skills in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, including active listening and telephone etiquette.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods; flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on vehicle systems.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required.
• Manage repair orders with accurate labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Utilize proprietary and universal software systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following 5S and safety protocols.
• Provide leadership and functional expertise to support associates and managers across the store.
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
