Job summary

CarMax Redlands, CA seeks an Auto Repair Specialist I to perform diagnostics, mechanical and cosmetic repairs on vehicles, ensuring safety and quality while delivering excellent customer service.

You will manage repair orders, use CarMax systems, and work with a team in a fast-paced environment. ASE certifications are required where state/local law applies; flexible hours including nights and weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately for record-keeping.
• Strong multitasking skills for a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods, with flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on all vehicle systems.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required.
• Manage repair orders with accurate labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Utilize proprietary and universal software systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following CarMax 5S standards and safety protocols.
• Provide leadership and support to associates and managers across the store.
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
