Job summary

TS Tech Americas, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and release of automotive seating and interior trim products at the Reynoldsburg, Ohio facility.

The role collaborates with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to innovate solutions that meet requirements and ISO standards. The position emphasizes CAD modeling (CATIA), DFMEA/DFM concepts, and cross-functional teamwork with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Engineering or equivalent (Mechanical, Product Development, etc.) or 1-3 years experience in product design or development desired, preferably in automotive seat or interior trim.
• Proficient in parametric modeling and CAD drafting and annotation; CATIA v5/v6 preferred.
• Familiar with performing CAD FEA simulations and interpretation of results.
• Experience with product design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Experience with project / team schedules (experience with MS Projects is a plus).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel locally (driving), domestic and / or internationally (air) without restriction (typically less than 10%).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present technical reports and CAD designs (Reports, CAD design, Schedules, Continuous Improvement Ideas, Design layouts, and other items).
• Collaborates among different groups to achieve overall company goals.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers to maintain relationships, expectations, and negotiations (Outside Stakeholders).
• Actively participates and engages in sectional, departmental, project, and customer meetings.
• Creates and maintains a schedule(s) to proactively manage areas of responsibility and resources.
• Lead design technicians to keep schedules on track and ensure CAD models and drawings are accurate and comply with standard procedures and ISO policies.
• Understands and locates applicable information (DWG, SPEC, Regulations).
• Demonstrates proficiency in engineering fundamentals and TS Tech products requirements.
• Support department innovation through benchmarking, proof of concept, research activities and development proposals (products and business processes).
