Job summary

Goken in Dublin, OH (USA) seeks an experienced engineer to support design and development activities and lead transitions from support work to small projects within the automotive interiors domain. You will design with Catia, perform DFMEA/GD&T checks, and coordinate with offshore teams and customers to meet schedules, cost and quality targets.

The role requires leading parts development, mentoring teammates, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Master’s degree in Engineering with required years of experience in automotive interiors.
• Education specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
• Knowledge and working experience with DFMEA, GD&T, and DFM.
• Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Experience in the automotive domain designing interior components (IP, Interior Trim, Seat trim/structure).
• Leadership in development of parts, coordinating with offshore teams and customers.
• Ability to work in cross-functional groups and provide technical guidance to Senior Management.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and tooling; CAE exposure preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs by investigating feasibility and performing design in Catia.
• Create concepts and specifications meeting cost, delivery, accuracy, and quality targets.
• Lead the transition from task-based work to small-scale projects, monitor progress, and escalate issues.
• Support management with project scope, scheduling, quoting, and reporting for small-scale projects.
• Mentor and train other associates in the team.
• Search for ways to increase efficiency and reduce design and parts costs.
