Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced systems engineer to develop and document requirements for automotive systems and manage key interfaces to ensure component reuse. The role involves overseeing requirements with other teams, supporting root-cause analysis, and designing tests to identify design improvements.

You will identify system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans, while tracking corrective actions to improve performance and reliability across platforms.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Five years of experience in Systems/Controls/Electrical engineering roles.
• Extensive experience with Siemens CNC control systems, Step7 and HMI WinCC.
• Experience with FlexNet, Q-Das and Thingworx.
• Four years with manufacturing process equipment, system engineering, and software/hardware integration.
• Experience with FANUC Robotics, 3DL Vision, PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens), and Cognex/Keyence vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document requirements to design automotive systems.
• Design and manage interfaces to enable component reuse and standard methodologies.
• Oversee requirements development and support root cause analysis.
• Design tests to identify design improvements.
• Identify system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation/action plans; track corrective actions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study
