Job summary

General Motors seeks a Manufacturing Software Integration Engineer to develop, integrate, and support software and controls systems used to validate vehicle electrical systems across GM's global manufacturing network. You will collaborate with manufacturing, IT, controls, validation, and plant teams to deliver reliable solutions that improve EFTQ and production uptime.

Qualifications

Professional experience developing, integrating, or supporting software in manufacturing, industrial automation, controls, test systems, or similar technical environments.
Strong programming experience in C, C++, C#, or related software development languages.
Experience with PLC platforms and control environments (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Studio 5000, RSLogix).
Experience integrating software with manufacturing equipment, controls systems, and plant-floor technologies.
Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, and UDP protocols; ability to troubleshoot across software, controls, networks, and hardware.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and support software applications that validate vehicle electrical systems and support manufacturing operations.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex issues involving software, PLCs, networks, and plant systems.
Develop and maintain integrations between software applications, PLCs, equipment, robotics, and enterprise platforms.
Provide technical leadership on complex integration projects and mentor junior engineers.
