Job summary

HTC Global Services is seeking a Design & Release Engineer for automotive closures and mechanisms in Dearborn, MI. The role leads system design, coordinates suppliers, and drives engineering releases from concept through launch, with emphasis on quality, cost, and weight optimization.

The position is fully onsite in Dearborn, with travel to suppliers and factories as needed. A mechanical engineering degree and hands-on experience with latching systems and CAD tools are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in design, development, or launch of automotive mechanisms.
• Experience with automotive latching systems and closure mechanisms.
• CAD capability using CATIA, 3DX, or Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with CAE tools and software.
• Ability to manage CAD/BOM structures and perform dimensional analysis.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead HLM system design and development to meet requirements and deliverables.
• Manage suppliers to achieve cost, weight, quality, performance targets.
• Develop and present technical analyses and packaging studies.
• Review CAD in Teamcenter and sign off engineering changes.
• Lead design reviews and PPAP readiness with suppliers.
• Support product launch and post-launch improvements.
• Travel to supplier sites as required.
