Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Automotive Body Repairer within the Department of Transportation to repair and restore department vehicles and equipment. You will perform body repair, component replacement, glass work, and paint application while documenting work and maintaining safety standards.

The role requires two years of semiskilled experience or equivalent education in automotive body repair, with no telework option and a full-time schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday

This position focuses on repairing and restoring the body, interior, and glass components of department vehicles and equipment. It plays a key role in maintaining safe and reliable transportation assets. As an Automotive Body Repairer, you will perform the following duties:

• Body Repair: Restore damaged or rusted auto equipment
• Component Replacement: Replace or repair vehicle parts such as doors, fenders, seats, and flooring
• Glass Work: Install new windshield, side, or rear glass
• Paint Application: Mix paints, match colors, and apply coatings to equipment
• Documentation: Record completed work, serviced equipment, time spent, and parts used
• Safety Practices: Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Hours may vary with seasonal requirements.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of semiskilled experience in automotive body repair and painting in a commercial operation; or
• Completion of a high school vocational-technical program in automotive body repair from an accredited vocational trade school; or
• Completion of a post-secondary curriculum in automotive body repair from an accredited technical school.

Special Requirements:

• All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
