Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation seeks an Automotive Body Repairer to repair and restore the body, interior, and glass components of state vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable transportation assets.

Duties include restoring damaged equipment, replacing doors, fenders, seats, and glass; performing paint work; and maintaining thorough service records. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

Two years semiskilled experience in automotive body repair and painting in a commercial operation
High school vocational-technical program in automotive body repair from an accredited vocational trade school
Post-secondary curriculum in automotive body repair from an accredited technical school
All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license

Responsibilities

Body Repair: Restore damaged or rusted auto equipment
Component Replacement: Replace or repair vehicle parts such as doors, fenders, seats, and flooring
Glass Work: Install new windshield, side, or rear glass
Paint Application: Mix paints, match colors, and apply coatings to equipment
Documentation: Record completed work, serviced equipment, time spent, and parts used
Safety Practices: Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety procedures
